Saw this first on Melissa’s blog, and followed the link to The Simple Woman, a blog I’d never seen before, to find that 82 other bloggers have put it on their blogs, so I thought since I was up and sleepless I’d jump on the bandwagon.
FOR TODAY, June 4, 2008…
Outside My Window…it is dark. I couldn’t sleep, and so am on the computer.
I am thinking…I should try to go back to sleep, but am not quite ready to relinquish the solitude of a house where everyone else is sleeping.
I am thankful for…my children, whom I bore late in life and for a time feared I might not be able to have, and for my husband, who didn’t insist we stop after only two.
From the kitchen…nothing, for a change.
I am wearing…a long blue and white summer nightgown.
I am creating…a baby, who kicks and squirms inside me, seeming impatient to join the family.
I am going…back to bed when I finish this.
I am reading…Book 6 of The Chronicles of Narnia with my eldest two daughters.
I am hoping…that my baby is healthy – and that I don’t have a headache later today from lack of sleep.
I am hearing…silence, one of my favorite things.
Around the house…not a creature is stirring. Wish I could add “not even a mouse” with confidence, but we have a rodent problem.
One of my favorite things…black coffee, for which I’ve lost the taste during this pregnancy, and hope I get back afterward.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Saying a reluctant good-bye to my sister-in-law, who has been here visiting; reading several draft chapters of a friend’s Roman history in progress, which I have taken an embarrassingly long time to do; going out to dinner with friends for the second time in a week, which doesn’t happen often.
Here is picture that I am sharing: my favorite picture of my husband, taken four years ago with our eldest daughter in Hawaii, because he looks so relaxed and happy.
