100 down, 1,350 to go

Days, that is, of the momentous and historic Obama Presidency’s first term. 2,800 if he’s a two-termer, of course, but I’m trying to be optimistic. Tomorrow (Wed., April 29) is the actual 100 day marker, but my New Mexico Independent column comes out on Tuesdays, so I thought I’d take the liberty of writing up my assessment a day early.

He certainly has made a lot of mistakes but I can’t say that I blame him for that as much as I blame those who voted for a man with not a lick of executive experience in his life. He is a nice fellow and is doing the best he can under tough conditions.

In the end there is nothing he can do that would change the opinions of his legions of adoring fans, many of whom actually had the nerve to accuse others of worshipping G.W. Bush (I have met no one who held Bush in the same regard as millions do Obama!). I have come across some whom I know personally and I enjoy mocking their silly little crush on him, but again that is not his fault but theirs. They hate religious people for the most part but still want their messiah.

I don’t agree with anyone who hates Obama, obviously, or who claims he is a Muslim, which some still believe. But the number of people who think the sun shines out of his anus is staggering in both size and scope. People who really should know better are suffering from this delusional love affair and in the end it will be they, far more than I, who are let down.

The biggest problem with the country now is not Obama but the Congress, which is peopled with individuals (on both sides) who have no idea what they are doing and who are more than willing to make policy decisions grounds for legal actions. But, in the end, I will bet my money that the Dems lose the Congress in 2010 unless the economy makes a complete 180 degree turn and we all know it won’t. Remember how people talked about the death of the Democratic party so many times and especially in 2004 after they couldn’t even defeat Bush? Same here. All this talk about the Repubs being lost in the wilderness if just bull. Sit back and watch.

To summarize Brigette’s assessment: She liked the things Obama did like Bush and thinks all the things he didn’t do like Bush should have been done the way Bush would have done them.

Its amazing to me how only eight years of Bush/Cheney brainwashed the GOP into thinking that diplomacy is weakness. This after over two hundred years of proof by admnistrations of all parties that diplomacy works better than threats, and even in the face of Bush’s catastrophic foreign policy results.

The lesson the GOP has taken from the Bush years appears to be that the rest of the world sucks and talking to them is for pussies. The GOP is retarded.

The really funny part is after taking a “fuck the rest of the world” stance the GOP is actually surprised when some portion of them decide fuck us back like they did on 9/11.

If you can’t tell when I’m being ironic after all these months of reading my blog, then it’s no wonder you think I’m so awful.

If I thought you were awful I wouldn’t read your blog. I’m just disappointed that you’ve been putting so much less intellectual analysis into your posts lately than you used to. I assume it has to do with a lack of free time.
